A truly unique zinnia with a beautiful blend of antique rose, dusty berry, burgundy and lime tones. Queen Lime Red is treasured here for its unusual colouring, with each bloom carrying its own mix of soft vintage shades that change beautifully as the flowers mature. She works beautifully in cottage gardens, cut flower patches and florist-style arrangements. The combination of aged rose and lime tones creates an old-fashioned, vintage, romantic feel.

Queen Lime Red has also become an important part of my own zinnia breeding journey. I'm exploring how these beautiful antique tones work with other lines and I'm excited to say I have a beautiful extra large version coming along nicely. I'll keep you posted as this project continues to grow.

Plants are strong branching growers, producing an abundance of blooms over a long flowering season. The flowers are excellent for cutting and combine beautifully with dahlias, cosmos, celosia, sunflowers and other garden flowers.

Easy to grow from seed and excellent for attracting pollinators, this is a rewarding variety for both beginners and experienced gardeners.

Growing Information

Sow: Spring and summer after frost danger has passed

Depth: Cover lightly (5 mm)

Germination: 7-14 days

Spacing: 25-30 cm

Conditions: Full sun, fertile well-drained soil

Harvest: Pick regularly for continuous flowering. Harvest when stems are firm (pass the wiggle test) and fully developed for the longest vase life.
