Bracken Sequel gave us a lot of blooms from early to late in the season. A beautiful colour that worked well in any bouquet and a staple here for our cut flower bunches. Tubers grown in clay soil (which equals sometimes ugly tubers). See the photos of the exact tubers we have listed, all with growing points busting to be planted.
Bracken Sequel is a small formal decorative dahlia bred by Neville Naumann from Bracken Ridge, Queensland - the Bracken prefix being his well-regarded Australian breeding line. A reliable choice for cutting gardens and small-scale flower growers alike.
Each tuber comes labelled with its name.
š± Growing Information
Planting time: Once the soil at planting depth reaches about 15°C and frost has passed. In south east Queensland that is typically August to November.
Planting depth: About 10cm, lying on its side with the eye facing up.
Position: Full sun. At least 6 hours of direct sun a day, but more is better.
Watering: Hold off until shoots are up unless the soil is very dry. There is no need to soak the tuber first.
Spacing: 30-60cm apart.
Notes: Pinch out the top of the centre shoot when the plant is 20-30cm tall for more stems to cut.
We post to QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC and SA including regional areas. We are unable to post to WA, NT, TAS or overseas.
Happy growing,
