Botanical Name: Bupleurum rotundifolium
Plant Type: Hardy annual
Plant Height: Approximately 60-90cm
Position: Full sun
Soil: Fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter
When to Sow: Sow when soil temperatures are between 10°C and 20°C. This makes Bupleurum suitable for autumn, winter or spring sowing depending on your local climate
Sowing Depth: Sow approximately 3-5mm deep
Germination: Usually 10-21 days under cool growing conditions
Plant Spacing: 20-30cm apart
Flowering: Approximately 10-12 weeks from sowing, depending on growing conditions
Growing Tips: Bupleurum prefers cooler growing conditions and performs best when kept evenly moist during establishment. Direct sow where possible, as young plants dislike root disturbance. Harvest stems regularly to encourage continued production of long, florist-quality stems
