This seed is grown and saved at Our Mountain Garden.
This is a lovely double white button feverfew with branching stems that carry numerous small blooms – a beautiful cottage-garden plant and a fantastic filler for flower bouquets as it softens and lifts floral designs. I love using this in my bouquets and am always sad to see it end each season … I only grow the one type here so it will be true to type.
• Fresh seed saved just recently from this season’s plants.
• Germination tested (see tray photo).
• Packets contain 150+ seeds (packed by weight at ~0.04 g). Please note the seed is tiny and contains some chaff.
• Easy to grow and flowers for months
I tend to start mine about 5-7 weeks before my last frost date. They take around 10-14 days to germinate at approximately 21 degrees Celsius.
They need light to germinate. I currently put them under a grow light but have in the past used a bright position by the window with equal success.
Sprinkle them onto a good quality seed raising mixture that has been moistened then very lightly press them so they have good contact with the soil, cover with a thin layer of vermiculite and moisten again. Keep the surface damp with a daily misting if needed until they germinate then prick out and pot them on when they have a few sets of true leaves and are large enough to handle.
My success rate really improved when I started using fresh seeds and sowed them as a group tray rather than individually.
I tend to bottom water after they have established with a ¼ strength dilute Seasol/Charlie Carp mix.
Plant in full sun at around 20-30cm spacing.
Happy growing,
Carla 🌱
