Where most Zephyranthes produce flushes from summer through autumn, flavissima can flower for longer, peaking in late summer after rain. The blooms are a cheerful canary yellow — crocus-like, 5–6 cm, nestled amongst needle-thin, rounded, glossy fresh-green foliage and stays semi-evergreen in warm climates. Being native to riverine habitat, it performs best in moist, slightly acidic soil and appreciates regular watering during the growing season more than some other species.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRarely sets seed in our garden.  Multiplies freely and vigorously via offsets, rapidly forming dense clumps. Likes to be crowded.
